This 90-minute webinar provided frontline practitioners with foundational knowledge and skills to support Canadians living on a low income in accessing benefits. Participants learned the importance of access to benefits for individuals and families, reviewed key skills and opportunities for starting benefits conversations, and practiced using the Benefits Wayfinder tool to become familiar with its functionality.

Please note: The webinar focused on learning how to use the Benefits Wayfinder tool effectively, rather than providing detailed information about individual benefits. The goal was to help attendees navigate the tool and integrate it into client conversations, not to review specific benefit programs in depth.

During this webinar, participants:

  • Recognized the importance of access to benefits for Canadians living on low income.
  • Identified how they can support Canadians living on low income to access benefits they are entitled to.
  • Used the Benefits Wayfinder in conversations using an effective strategy tailored to the individual they are working with.
