The Financial Services Regulatory Authority of Ontario (FSRA) is responsible for protecting the rights of consumers in Ontario by promoting high standards of business conduct and transparency within the financial services they regulate.

Financial services professionals are not required to use the Financial Planner or Financial Advisor titles to provide financial advice.

However, individuals using the Financial Planner or Financial Advisor titles must hold an approved credential from a FSRA-approved credentialing body.

If you believe an individual is using the title without an approved credential you may submit a complaint to FSRA.
