In 2011, the Peel Children and Youth Initiative (PCYI) adopted three strategic priorities to guide our collective, measurable work helping all children and youth to thrive in Peel. One of these priorities is our Enrolled By Six: Peel Postsecondary Strategy, encouraging families with eligible children to enrol them in the Canada Learning Bond (CLB) Registered Education Savings Plan (RESP). This strategy did not take a ‘programs for problems’ approach, where a single agency hires staff to advance a project. Instead, PCYI took a systems level approach where partners from all sectors adopt practices and policies to support the enrolment of eligible children.
